HLYBOKE OZERO 2, BONDARYKHA, SUBOTIV: THE COMPARISON OF CERAMICS ASSEMBLAGES AND SOME METHODICAL PROPOSALS

The paper provides an approbation of the procedure structuring and comparison prehistoric ceramics assemblages.

These ones revealed by analysis general morpho-functional classes (which enable to investigate real categories, meaningful past cultures) applying «data mining» techniques (for finding out hidden arrays continuous numerical attributes). Statistical multivariate methods are also crucial comparative bulk artifacts.
 To solve this tasks, it is proposed apply: (1) measures assemblages diversity (richness, entropy, effective number species evenness); (2) Pearson’s χ2 association test correspondence analysis; (3) tests on morphological homogeneity procedures separation morphologically homogeneous groups; (4) statistical characterization (5) groups means variances (MANOVA), canonical discriminant regression «decision trees».
 three Late Bronze Age final stage Dnipro-Dinets’ rivers interflew (Hlybore Ozero 2, Bondarykha Subotiv) allowed formalize their characteristics dissimilarities. This creates base for further researches, particularly field pre-historical reconstructions.
 It has been that Subotiv’s ceramic assemblage typologically more diverse than Siverskiy Dinets’ region sites. On other hand, specificity Hlyboke 2 (site arose re-worked Timber-Grave Culture traditions) evident quantitative parameters classes, while Subotiv rather similar measure.
 Analysis pot-like vessels indicates pottery production: local pots distinctive relative neck height heaps height. Comparison shows much less dissimilarities between these them Su­botiv’s one.
